wow you really have to wonder what chance women's handball has to get shown on Danish television. Tomorrow there is a match between number 2(ikast) and 4(nfh), but TV2 decides to show the men's game between Kolding vs. Fredericia. I understand that it's a local derby, but it's between number 2 and number 13. If ALL the clubs aren't panicking about the total disregard by TV2 towards female handball, then I fear they are all in trouble.

It is again a good example how tv2 is constantly taking the p|ss. Roughly checked on the tophåndbold app, there are weekly 2 games broadcasted from the Herreligaen, and if you are lucky 2-3 montly from the women's league... If it is such a pain for them, just give the rights away to THB, where you can watch the second division games regardless (on their level but still).

Ikast - NHF is certainly a clash they like to mess with anyway. Last October (weekday game as today) I planned to go, arranged travel and accomodation on Falster, and they changed the date to a week _earlier_, so I could not watch it at the end. But Nykobing F is a nice place

the latest updated list of TV game is from 31. januar. At that point they had shown 17 women's games(league + Santander cup). There has been 3 televised games since then(I checked tv2play). So 20 games in total. That means if they were to reach the same amount of televised games as last season(89) they would have to televise ALL the remaining games of the mainround,  ALL playoff games and ALL semifinals, finals and bronzematches would have to be televised and be played to the full 3 match format. Then they would reach the same number of games as season 2022-23. If I were to be fair to TV2 I should mention that the season 22-23 did see an increase in televised matches of 50% compared to season 2021-22

Update: That massive 50% increase in televised matches from season 21/22 to 22/23 actually means the women's teams are on track to have the same amount om televised games as the 21/22 season, and thus you can view season 22/23 as an anomaly. That ofcause doesn't mean that TV2 isn't neglecting Women's handball. If we look at the number of women's games compared to men's games expressed as a percentage over the last four years we get this (women's games/men's games *100 = women's games as a percentage of mens games)
20/21: (75 / 102) * 100 ≈ 73.53%
21/22: (60 / 72) * 100 ≈ 83.33%
22/23: (89 / 103) * 100 ≈ 86.41%
23/24: (20 / 47) * 100 ≈ 42.55%

It is quite clear by these numbers that the focus of Tv2 in this season has shifted heavily towards Men's handball

Whoever is responsible for this (and I can guess who), their clear goal is to prove one thing at the end of the season, namely to show that fewer people is watching the women's league. And it will be visible on the average as well, since it is barely a regular weekly show, like the men's one. Utter bollocks if you ask me.

BTW Anol, did you count the Santander Cup games into the 20? My memory might fail me but I can not remember 20 League games broadcasted since September... That would be over 3 games each month, and there was none in December for example.

Yeah I did, I counted the santander cup games for men and women, so that way they have no bearing on the match distribution percentage. I used the pdf provided on tophåndbold.dk that shows match distribution, and then just counted the number of games dated after 31. jan that are available on tv2play.

You understand correctly. No international games. Only domestic league and cup games

But I understand that it sounds spoiled compared to many other leagues.that is not my intend.

So it's for certain now that Ajax will be relegated.

Sure, that could have been good. But it wasn't even close, and there will still be a chance for the number two. However it is pretty much impossible for #2 in the 1.div to qualify. Let's have two direct relegations and there will be a much bigger chance of having more Zealand teams

Sadly it seems that most league clubs are gonna fight against two relegation spots
