Yeah especially surprising as she was under contract untill 2025, so they had to pay for her.

But its not so surprising in itself that she wanted to leave Aarhus, I suppose, with all the chaos that club has been/is in.

It is not unheard off in female handball that a player has to pay the transfer fee, or part of it themselves. I don't think it's common, but I know of two cases where it is so.

Good to hear about Rebelo, I wondered why she stayed in Portugal after her excellent U19 Euro, instead of moving to a bigger league and getting better developement. Hopefully Esbjerg will have patience with her, she is one of the most promising young players in Europe, but she will need time.

This is good for Rebelo, good for Esbjerg's short squad, and good for me because it's better to watch Esbjerg than to watch the Portuguese league just to see Rebelo. It's bad news for Madeira though, the team that just brought Rebelo from Benfica this summer and now loses her.
